[June 01, 2018]  LINCOLN - Gary “Beaver” Newman, 78, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 in his home.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home

Obituary

Gary “Beaver” Newman, 78, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 in his home.

Gary was born on January 2, 1940 in Moweaqua, the son of Jacob and Berniece (Sill) Newman. He married Karen Kathleen Adams on December 22, 1962 in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2014.

Gary is survived by his children, Henry Dean Newman of Lincoln and Andrea (Mike) Hinton of Lincoln; his brothers, Doug (Sue) Newman of Lincoln, Rich (Lou Ann) Newman of Lincoln, and Roger “Charlie” Newman of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Devon Jacob Newman and Mason Taylor Newman of Lincoln, Mallory (Clint) Garey of Chestnut, Madelyn (Ethan) Hinton-Tabor of Lincoln; and four great-grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

Gary was the owner and operator of Rainbow Gutters in Lincoln. He was a member of The Masonic Lodge #210 as well as a member of Teamsters 916. Gary was an avid racing fan.

Services for Gary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation will take place two hours prior to services (9:00-11:00a.m.) also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made in Gary’s name to The Humane Society of Logan County or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
