Mann, McCuen and Hurley Sentenced to Prison

[June 04, 2018]  The Logan County State's Attorney Jonathan Wright is pleased to announce sentencing in the following cases:

People v. Jack R. Mann, 17 CF 29:

On May 22, 2018, Associate Judge William Workman accepted a fully negotiated plea agreement which sentences Jack R. Mann to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The case is based upon a 2016 covert narcotics investigation conducted by the Lincoln Police Department. Using a confidential source, police purchased cocaine from Mann in Lincoln, Illinois on three occasions: November 10th, November 15th, and December 8th. The first two deliveries occurred within 1,000 feet of a place of worship elevating the offenses from a class 1 felony to a class X felony. Upon his release from prison, Mann will serve 3 years of mandatory supervised release (formerly known as parole).

People v. Steven J. McCuen, 17 CF 119:

On May 23, 2018, Associated Judge William Workman sentenced Steven J. McCuen to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a class 2 felony. On July 15, 2017, Illinois State Police responded to a single car crash on Interstate 55. McCuen was identified as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

He submitted to breath analysis and registered 0.129. McCuen has two prior DUI offenses elevating this offense to a class 2 felony. Due to his prior criminal history, McCuen was sentenced as a Class X offender. Upon his release from prison, McCuen will serve 3 years of mandatory supervised release.

People v. Kyle Hurley, 18 CF 77:

On May 9, 2018, Associated Judge William Workman accepted a fully negotiated plea agreement sentencing Kyle Hurley to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Based on his prior history, Kyle Hurley is required to register as a sex offender. Hurley failed to maintain a current registration with the Lincoln Police Department and was convicted as a result. Upon his release from prison, Hurley will serve 3 years of mandatory supervised release
