Relay for Life event June 16th offers plenty of fun, games, and entertainment

[June 08, 2018]   LINCOLN - Relay for Life of Logan County announces entertainment and fun games to be featured at the 2018 Relay to be held Saturday, June 16 from 1:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the Jack Nutt Arena of Lincoln College.

A Buffet, prepared and served by the Dietary Department of Lincoln College will be open to the public from 1 p.m. 4 p.m. adults - $8.00, children - $4.00.

Beginning at 1 p.m. the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club will have antique cars on the parking lot for guests to admire and visit with the drivers.

Inside, at 1 p.m. the opening ceremony with begin with Emily Hope Music singing the National Anthem.

Master of Ceremony, Cameron Kurtz will introduce the Teams who take the first lap around the track, followed by the introduction of Honorary Chairs Jolene Fellers and Amy Weidhumer who will lead the rest of the Survivors on their lap around the track, followed by the Caregivers taking the next lap.

From that time on the fun and games will fill the afternoon.

2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. will be Line Dancing with Suzanne & Erin Gowin.

3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. the Good News and T.R.A.S.H. will bring uplifting and fun music.

4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Audra’s Studio of Dance, led by Audra Turley, will entertain.

At 6 p.m. Mike Maske will help you win the items you cannot live without with a live auction!

From 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. items in the silent auction section will be available for bidding.

Throughout the day, the team sites will be offering fun and games of their own, all open to the public.

Be sure to look for Candy Land, Heads Up, Pac Man, The Game of Life, Pie In The Face, Tiddly-Winks, Twister, Monopoly, Ring Toss, Connect 4, Pumpkin Pitch, and more.

Luminaria can be purchased until 8:45 p.m. in memory or to honor someone. Survivor registration will also be open until 9 p.m. Survivor Pins will be given.


The Luminaria will be lit and names read at 9 p.m. and the closing ceremony and Balloon release at 11 p.m.

The public is invited to join this year’s event so together, Relay for Life of Logan County will come closer to winning the game and kicking that dreadful enemy – cancer out of the game of life.
