[June 09, 2018]  WAYNESVILLE - Berline A. Smith, 100, of Waynesville, passed away on June 3, 2018, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta

Service: Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

Berline A. Smith, 100, of Waynesville, passed away on June 3, 2018, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Mr. Dave Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Waynesville.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Berline A. Blackwood was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Adamsville, Tenn., the daughter of Arthur W. and Ollie Burney Blackwood. She married Curry Smith on July 13, 1935. He preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1986.

Berline is survived by their children: Shirley (Maxwell) Melton of Stantonville, Tenn., Billy (Catherine) Smith of Bloomington, Brenda (Jim) Tabor of Creve Coeur, and Thomas (Nancy) Smith of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Roger; two sisters; three brothers; and two grandchildren.

Berline was a member of the Mt. Vincent Methodist Church in Stantonville, Tenn. She worked for Lincoln Development Center for seventeen years.

Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Christian Church, Waynesville Fire Department, or the Waynesville American Legion.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
