Lincoln Logan food pantry celebrates 25 years of serving. Assisting those in Logan County by furnishing nutrition and hygiene items to qualified residents.

The food pantry opened in June 1993, a coalition of 15 + churches and small pantries joined together to offer one larger food pantry. During the first year of operation, June 1993 - June 1994, the food pantry furnished food assistance to 1,884 families/households. An average of 157 families each month.

25 years later: for year ending 2017 the pantry served 5,910 families/households, 20,890 individuals, and 7,508 children. An average of 493 families each month.

The food pantry goal is to provide once each month a modest quantity of food to qualified needy families of Logan County. Similar to a small grocery store, a family goes about the pantry with a grocery cart and, depending on family size, they select items they want off the shelves at no cost to them.

Hours of operation:
Tuesday: 9 to 11 a.m.
Thursday: 2 to 4 p.m.
2nd Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. (Seniors and disabled person's)

The food pantry is part of a network of organizations dedicated to serving people who need assistance:

• Central Illinois Food Bank

• US Department of Agriculture,

• Feeding America to include Logan County retailers and Grocers

  • IGA,

  • Kroger,

  • Aldi,

  • Walmart

  • and Sysco

Community support to the food pantry is very important.  You can support the Logan County Food Pantry in the following ways:

• Donate non-perishable food items (before “best buy date” printed on item)

• Financial Contributions (Food Bank average cost is 20 cents per pound)

• Volunteering your time and energy

The pantry has no paid staff - all are volunteers. They welcome the community to help maintain stocked shelves, sort food items, unload trucks and assist pantry customers during open hours.

The food pantry is incorporated as a not for profit business with a board of directors that jointly oversee pantry activities. Donations made to the pantry are tax deductible.
