West Lincoln-Broadwell basketball girls honored at Illinois State Capital

The 2017 Lady Wolverines 7th and 8th grade state championship basketball teams were honored at the state capital on Tuesday in Springfield. WLB coach Kari Froebe said, "It was an amazing experience. Most girls had never been to the state capital."

The ceremony was arranged by Representative Tim Butler. According to Froebe, the team met at the representative's office and then walked over to the capital where Rep. Butler met them with a professional photographer who then took photos of the team on the steps. "He then talked to the girls and told them a little about the building," said Froebe.

"Then we went inside the house where we waited for our house resolution to begin. Mr. Butler read some information about both teams and then congratulated them, as well as Logan County. It was a cool experience," according to Coach Froebe.
