LINCOLN
The Logan County Joint
Solid Waste Agency announces its newest partnership with the Lincoln
Big R Store to provide recycling services to residents residing
outside the Lincoln city limits. The City of Lincoln’s municipal
garbage/curbside recycling contract with Area Disposal began March
1st and as a result the Lincoln recycling bins that were located in
the city parking lot on Kickapoo Street have been removed.
In an effort to provide recycling services to those household
outside the city limits, the Agency has purchased two bins to
provide recycling of co-mingled plastics/metals and paper materials;
the bins have been placed in the parking lot of the Lincoln Big R
Store adjacent to Woodlawn Road.

The recycling guidelines for acceptable materials remain unchanged and recyclers
are reminded not to place glass, plastic bags or corrugated cardboard in the
bins. The recycling bins are for residential recycling only and commercial,
landscape, construction or agricultural materials are not accepted.
Recyclers are reminded to empty materials loose into the bins and not to
overload the bins - making sure the lids close. Do not leave any materials on
the ground where it can be blown around the parking lot. The recycling bins will
be emptied weekly by the Agency using its collection truck. When recycling
remember – if in doubt, leave it out.
The Agency asks for your assistance and cooperation as this newest recycling
site is launched. If you have any questions regarding recycling guidelines or
other recycling opportunities offered by the Agency, please contact Mitzi
Rohlfs, LCJSWA Coordinator at 217-737-7927.
