[March 10, 2018]  LINCOLN -  Edward J. Pluth, 88 , of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital .

Rosary:  Monday, March 12, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church

Visitation: at 10 a.m. at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at the Church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Edward J. Pluth, 88, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Simon Taabu officiating .

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church prior to the visitation.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post # 263 of Lincoln.

Edward Joseph Pluth was born on May 15, 1929 in Lincoln the son of Edward Martin and Freda Krusemark Pluth. He was united in marriage to Joan Pokorski on December 11, 1951 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lincoln. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughter: Caryn (Don) McLaughlin of Lincoln. Four grandchildren: Sarah (Justin) Ramlow, Amy (Jarret) Phelps, Shanan (Nicholas) Hoffman, Greg Pluth. Six great grandchildren.

Funeral Director

Ed was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by one son: Stephen Pluth, two sisters: Louise Brown and Lorene Leesman.

Ed graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1947 and then graduated from the College of St. Joseph in St. Joseph, Indiana. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

He retired as Owner / Operator of Pluth Tin Shop in 1994 after 38 years of service.

He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knight s of Columbus Council # 1250 , 4th Degree Knight, American Legion Post # 263 and Elks Lodge # 914.

Ed was a loving husband, father and Big Pa Pa.

Memorials may be made to Carroll School.
