Harriet I. Richardson, 91, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday,
March 15, 2018, at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. |

Catholic Church in Elkhart
Service:
11 a.m. Monday at the church

Obituary
Harriet I. Richardson, 91, of
Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at
the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018, at St.
Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhart. Rev. Jeffrey
G. Laible will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00
a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Elkhart Cemetery.
Harriet I. Boward was born July 31, 1926, in
Middletown, the daughter of George and Birdie Giertz
Boward. She was united in marriage with John D.
Richardson on November 3, 1945. He preceded her in
death in April 1989.
Harriet is survived by her children:
Joan (David) Johnston of Middletown, G. Robert (Jan)
Richardson of Monmouth, Andrea (Andy) Buss of East
Peoria, and John D. (Ann) Richardson II of Byron;
her sisters: Mina Dambacher and Ellen (Paul) Mason,
both of Middletown; five grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren. |
She was preceded in death by her parents, three
sisters: Minnie Carpenter, Norma Duncan, and Ilda Heyen; and three
brothers: Ted Boward, Albert Boward, and Raymond Boward.
Harriet is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhart. She
retired from the State of Illinois where she worked as a secretary.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or the
Elkhart Fire and Rescue Department.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of
Lincoln.
