Paulus and Worth lead Lincoln softball to first win of the season

The Lincoln Railsplitters softball team opened the 2018 season with
a 10-6 win over Warrensburg-Latham on Monday afternoon. Emily Paulus
and Sydney Worth each had three hits to lead Lincoln.
Lincoln got on the scoreboard in the second inning on an RBI single
by Sydney Sutherland. Lincoln also put a run across the plate in the
second inning. The Railsplitters scored three runs in the fourth
inning and took a 5-3 lead over the Cardinals. The Railsplitters
added two more runs in the fifth inning and three more runs in the
seventh inning to capture the 10-6 win.
Lincoln had 14 hits in the game.
Besides the outstanding offensive production from Paulus and Worth,
the Railsplitters got multiple hits from Mya Kate Kirgan and
Macailey Metelko. Jacey Cooper, Bayleigh Gillum and Sutherland each
contributed one hit apiece.
Kerstin Osborne earned the win for Lincoln. She allowed six runs on
five hits and struck out 14 batters while going the distance.
Lincoln will play at Williamsville this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
