[March 30, 2018]  The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Market will launch its third season on Saturday, May 12. The producer-only farmers market will be held rain or shine on Saturdays through September 29 from 8am – NOON in the Expo Building at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln, Illinois.

On Wednesday, April 11 potential volunteers are invited to attend a volunteer orientation at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital from 6pm-7:30pm. The orientation will offer interested individuals an opportunity to learn about potential volunteer duties, flexible scheduling and more. Orientation will take place in Steinfort A/B at ALMH.

Volunteers at The ALMH Market are asked to commit to 3-hour shifts. All volunteers are given a free market meal for their service.

“The Market is an extension of the ALMH mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve; our aim is to promote fresh food and healthy living while supporting local farmers and the food-producer economy,” said Angela Stoltzenburg director of the ALMH Community Health Collaborative. “Volunteers are critical at The ALMH Market. We would not be able to put on this amazing community event each week if it weren’t for our volunteers.”

As the premiere indoor, producer-only market in central Illinois, The ALMH Market has become a wellness destination like no other.

The producer-only designation ensures that all items offered at The Market are homegrown, handmade, and/or vendor-created from locally owned operations within the state of Illinois. Free admission, free parking, free activities including free health screenings, the free kid-friendly Power of Produce Club and a LINK card matching program makes the weekly event attractive to everyone.

Online applications are also available for potential vendors at www.managemy market.com.  Community organizations will also have opportunities to partner with The ALMH Market. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the farmers market coordinator at 309-212-0201.
