[April 30, 2018]  In celebration of their new business the owners of Renew Consignment and Thrift invite the community to join them on Monday, May 7th at 5 p.m. for a ribbon cutting.

Renew Consignment and Thrift is located at 201 South Sangamon Street in Lincoln. The new owners are Angie Bossingham, Jennifer Schneider and Liz Hays.

The three women purchased the business name and stock in October of last year. By the time they were prepared to have an open house and ribbon cut, the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce had closed. When Lincoln Daily News decided to start offering ribbon cut services to all Logan County businesses, the owners at Renew were among the first to make contact and ask for a ribbon cut.

Renew Consignment and Thrift has been around for a while, operating in that same location. However, in the past, it was owned by a larger not-for-profit organization and dealt more with selling donated items than it did taking pieces on consignment.

Since the change in ownership the emphasis has reversed. Now a ‘for-profit’ business owned by local individuals, Renew takes in some very interesting, as well as very useful items primarily on consignment.

Going into the store is a very nice shopping experience as one will find all sorts of things. From every day to dressy clothing, kitchen wares, housewares, and even furniture (some antique!), this is a great shop and a great asset to our community.

The ribbon cut will be held at 5 p.m. and the store will be open until 6:30 p.m. After the cut, be sure to go inside, enjoy some light refreshments, visit with the owners and staff, and of course take a good look around.
