[May 07, 2018]  Associate Judge William Workman sentenced Nicholas Schriber to 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of Aggravated Robbery, a class 1 felony.

On February 14, 2018, Schriber admitted guilt to Aggravated Robbery based on a Partially Negotiated Plea Agreement wherein the State agreed to cap its sentencing recommendation at 8 years of imprisonment. The matter was scheduled for sentencing hearing on April 25, 2018.

The case arose from a July 19, 2016 911 call from an employee at Casey’s, 1100 5th Street, Lincoln, Illinois. The employee stated that a white male wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt with the words “got crabs?” on the front demanded the employee turn over all the cash from register while holding his hand under his t-shirt at the waist. The male held his hand under his shirt in a manner that caused the employee to believe the male had a gun. Lincoln Police investigated the incident and were able to identify Nicholas Schriber as a suspect. The Casey’s employee identified Nicholas Schriber from a photographic line-up.
