[May 07, 2018]  LINCOLN -  Donald Wayne McAfee, 93, of Lincoln, passed away at his home at Castle Manor on May 3, 2018.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Obituary

Donald Wayne McAfee, 93, of Lincoln, passed away at his home at Castle Manor on May 3, 2018.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
A time of visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. with Ron Otto officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Ohio.

Donald was born May 2, 1925 in Lincoln, IL., the son of Lewis Fletcher and Grace Eta (Jones) McAfee. He married Thelma Kingsley on March 10, 1945. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2006.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the European Theatre. He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and the Lincoln Masonic Lodge 210. Donald was employed at Hersh TV for 17 years and at Klaus Radio in Champaign for 20 years. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.

Surviving are his sons: Gary (Sonjo) McAfee of Lincoln, IL., and Phillip (Theresa) McAfee of Huber Heights, OH., 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Thelma, grandson Douglas McAfee, brother Bud McAfee, sister Grace Fern Sommers, half-brother Edgar McAfee, and half-sister Lucinda Mae Bertsch.

Memorial donations may be made to Lincoln Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
