Rantoul outlasts Railers on Senior Night

The Lincoln Railers honored baseball seniors Jordan Jacobs, Titus Cannon, Dylan Chaudoin, Jack Eimer, Aleck Bailey, Brett Marlin and Blake Marlin Monday afternoon prior to the game and then every senior took the field against Rantoul. Sophomore Noah Funk was the starting pitcher for Lincoln.

Rantoul took a 1-0 lead over Lincoln in the third inning but the Railers came back with two runs scored in the bottom of the inning. Will Ewald, pinch running for Funk, scored the first Railer run on a hit by Jordan Jacobs and Nate Arnold drove in the second run for Lincoln. Jacobs scored on Arnold's hit but Jack


Jack Eimer is tagged out at home by the Rantoul catcher.

Eimer was thrown out at home also trying to score. The Railers took a 2-1 lead late into the game but it was Rantoul scoring the go ahead runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Rantoul wins it 4-2 over Lincoln.

Nate Arnold took the loss for Lincoln. He tossed one inning and allowed two runs on two hits, striking out one batter.

The starter, Noah Funk, pitched six innings and allowed two runs on five hits and struck out six batters.
