LINCOLN

The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Market will launch its third season on Saturday, May 12. The producer-only farmers market will be held rain or shine on Saturdays through September 29 from 8am – NOON in the Expo Building at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Lincoln, Illinois.

This year The Market has expanded into a second room at the Fairgrounds. Favorite vendors are returning and new vendors are expanding offerings to now include honey, soups, smoothies and cheeses to name a few. The prepared food vendor this year will be The Guest House who has a brick and mortar coffee and bakery in downtown Lincoln. Market guests are encouraged to enjoy breakfast before or after they do their shopping. The track at the fairground is also available during The Market for walking with friends. A new “Moving at the Market” program will give guests an opportunity to earn market tokens for their laps walked around the track.

“The Market is an extension of the ALMH mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve; our aim is to promote fresh food and healthy living while supporting local farmers and the food-producer economy,” said Angela Stoltzenburg director of the ALMH Community Health Collaborative. “We are so thankful to our community for supporting this effort with their attendance and support.”

As the premiere indoor, producer-only market in central Illinois, The ALMH Market has become a wellness destination like no other. The producer-only designation ensures that all items offered at The Market are locally grown, handmade, and/or vendor-created from locally owned operations within the state of Illinois. Free admission, free parking, free activities including free health screenings and the kid-friendly Power of Produce Club and a LINK card matching program makes the weekly event attractive to everyone.

The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting at 7:45 a.m. and be ready to shop with the great vendors at the market with the bell rings at 8 a.m.
