Local
food pantries including Community Action, Hope Grows Community
Center, Holy Family Food Pantry and Logan County Food Pantry each
received a portion of over 1600 items which were collected at the
Logan County 4-H Food Drive held at Kroger in Lincoln on National
4-H Day of Service April 28th.
Seventeen adult 4-H volunteers, 4-H ambassadors, and 4-H members
assisted on the day of the drive at Kroger in Lincoln with the
collection. In addition, five local 4-H clubs collected food during
their April club meetings to boost the drive including Beason Ag,
Hartem Clovers, Middletown 4-H’ers, The 4 Corner Clovers and The
Pioneers.
Ed Tibbets, of Hope Grows Community Center, states “All the
wonderful food you collected will certainly go a long way and help
many people in our neighborhood!” Rick Releford, of the Logan County
Food Pantry, also indicated the many items donated will help assist
the 1500 families served by the Logan County Food Pantry each month.
