LINCOLN
One day of each year
women flock to the campus of Lincoln Christian University to what's
commonly called 'Ladies Day' for a full day of uplifting messages,
worship songs and fellowship. This year on Wednesday, April 25th,
900 women filled the chapel in anticipation of a day given to
recharging spiritual batteries.
This year's Women's Conference theme 'Joy in the Journey' featured
Gwen Smith and Mandy Harvey as special speakers. Both dynamic young
women, are talented speakers, musicians and vocalists. Each in her
own style delivered morning and afternoon messages that brought
hope, compassion, humanity, support, encouragement and a touch of
wisdom wrapped in some humor for all.
Smith, married with children, latest book "I want it all" includes
questions for reflection and a Bible study guide. Gwen hosts an
online ministry for women to engage together at GwenSmith.net.

Women had a little help in
finding their 'Joy in the Journey' as featured speakers Gwen Smith and Mandy
Harvey shared their uplifting stories at this year's Women's Conference. The
annual event was held on April 25th on the campus of Lincoln Christian
University.
Harvey won fourth place in America's Got Talent, she found Simon Cowell not that
bad and says he smells good. She shared some of the deep trials and amazing
opportunities she has experienced since losing her hearing at age 18. Her first
book, 'Sensing the Rhythm' came out last September. She has ties to the
university, her father Joe Harvey is an LCU Doctor of Ministry alum.
Women of all ages enjoyed the day and left with smiles to share back home.
