Lincoln softball falls to East Peoria in Saturday doubleheader

The Lincoln Railers Softball Team was swept in a doubleheader on
Saturday against East Peoria.
In the first game Lincoln lost a tight ballgame by a score of 3-1.
East Peoria scored a run in the top of the second inning but Lincoln
tied the game in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single by
Jacey Cooper. East Peoria went ahead in the top of the fourth inning
on a solo home run. The Raiders added a run in the top of the sixth
inning. The Railers were shutout in the final four innings and
Kerstin Osborne took the 3-1 loss.
From the circle Osborne tossed the complete seven innings and
allowed seven hits and three runs. She struck out three batters.
Ryleigh Lamb led the Lincoln offense with a 2-for-3 performance at
the plate.
In game two Lincoln was defeated by a score of 8-3. The game was
tied 3-3 at the end of the third inning but East Peoria took the
lead for good in the fourth inning. The Raiders hit three home runs
in game two.
Emily Paulus and Sydney Worth each had two hits for Lincoln.
Bayleigh Gillum was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Osborne was 1-for-4 with
2 RBIs.
Osborne took the loss. She pitched seven innings and allowed eight
runs while surrendering 12 hits. She struck out 7 batters.
