Daughters of the American Revolution recognize local junior high and high school students

Three Logan County and one Mason County high school seniors have been honored by the Abraham Lincoln Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for selection by their respective schools as the annual DAR Good Citizen of 2018.

These students were recognized based on dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

Hayley Matson from Hartem High School is the daughter of Amy Barger and Dustin Matson.

Ruth Lessen from Lincoln Community High School is the daughter of Eldon and Martha Lessen.

Corey Beccue from Mount Pulaski High School is the son of Jeffrey and Jean Beccue.

Elli Johnson from Illini Central High School is the daughter of Doug and Kristi Johnson.

At the Junior High/ Middle School level the Abraham Lincoln Chapter sponsored nine students to receive the Outstanding Work in American History award.

The honorees were:

Savannah Welch, Carroll Catholic;

Wiat Miller, Chester-East Lincoln;

Brooke Denney, Hartem Jr. High;

Audrey Lynn, Illini Central Middle School;

Natalie Graber, Lincoln Jr. High;

Cassidy Clark, Mount Pulaski;

Andrew Bowman and Drew Eimer, West Lincoln-Broadwell

Olivia Thompson, Zion Lutheran.
