LDN -- Top Stories

On Monday, members of the Mount Pulaski American Legion and VFW, along with members of the community, spent the greater part of the day participating in various Memorial Day observances. The day began with Memorial Day services at Mount Pulaski Cemetery and Steenburgen Cemetery. There was also a visit to Vonderleith Living Center, where resident veterans were honored and thanked for their service to our country.

The last item on the day of activities was a ham and bean luncheon hosted by the VFW, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary at the Ryman-Fuiten American Legion Hall in Mount Pulaski. A free will donation was taken at the luncheon with the funds going to support the upkeep of the large Veteran Memorial in the Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
