Tony Shuff’s glittering photo of a holiday wonderland would add a festive note to any seasonal display.  This piece, as well as artworks and décor by other local artists, will be in Logan County Arts’ sale and silent auction at the Lincoln Art Institute Gallery on November 8, 2018.

[November 07, 2018]   LINCOLN - To cap their 2018 exhibit season, Logan County Arts members will hold their annual Holiday Show and Shop event at the Lincoln Art Institute Gallery at 112 S. McLean St, Lincoln. The show will open with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

For this event, the artists will present a variety of items suitable as distinctive gifts and holiday decor, including original paintings, prints and photography with local and nature themes, handcrafted wooden boxes and cutting boards, tapestry and appliqué, interior décor, greeting cards, and other holiday decorations.

According to gallerist Moses Pinkerton, the holiday show has been a success in the past. “People appreciate the chance to choose a gift that is special, one of a kind. And the artists have created works that will appeal to all ages, at very accessible prices.”

This show will repeat last year’s popular silent auction, which will take place between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the opening. Each artist has donated a piece for the bidding, and all proceeds will go to the upkeep of the Art Institute Gallery.

After the initial reception, The Art Institute Gallery will open on request for shoppers during the holiday season until Dec. 17. For an appointment, people may call Pinkerton at 217-651-8355 or Mitch Douglas at 630-890-1318.
