[November 07, 2018]  With almost 9 percent of Logan County residents diagnosed with diabetes, a free community Diabetes Expo seems like the right thing to do during American Diabetes Month.

Registered Dietitian Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital is bringing local experts to the Oasis Senor Center on November 18 from 12:30pm to 3pm to do just that. Jennifer DiPasquale, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator, is coordinating the event.

The Expo will provide information on a variety of topics including meal planning, high and low blood sugar treatment, glucose monitoring and using the results, eye health, and more.

DiPasquale worked with several local experts to bring these topics to one location. In addition to DiPasquale, speakers will include ALMH pharmacist Hannah Camp, ALMH registered nurse/certified diabetes educator Sarah Tierney, and optometrist R. Todd Nobbe, O.D. of Nobbe Eye Care Center.
