Visitation: Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Obituary

Kay F. Petro, 73, of Springfield, passed away November 9, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 4-6 PM at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Kay was born March 7, 1945 in Lincoln, the daughter of James H. Harris and Beulah F. (Rose) Harris. She married Roger M. Petro on March 15, 1974. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1985. Kay was a caregiver at Lincoln Developmental Center, managed Haas Bakery in Lincoln, and was a family caregiver. She spent countless hours over the last few decades on family genealogy. She loved to travel, drive and experience places, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a regular supporter of the Ronald McDonald Charities of Central Illinois.

Surviving are her children: Dena Sablotny, Wendy Sablotny, and Mikel (Nicole) Petro; grandchildren: Kayla Speers, Mikel A. Petro Jr., Logan Petro, Kendyl Petro, and Averie Petro; and brother James Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Harold "Bub" Harris, Sister Eva Hill, Sister Laura Slayton, Sister Faye Jones, and brother Aaron Harris Sr.

Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
