[November 20, 2018]   A former Heartland Community College Board of Trustees member has been selected to serve out the remainder of a seat that expires next year.

The Board of Trustees will vote at their November 20 meeting to approve Jim Drew of Lincoln to serve as a Trustee. Drew had previously served on the District 540 Community College Board from 2011-2017 and had served as vice chairman during his term. He works for the Illinois Farm Bureau/Logan County Farm Bureau.

Once approved, Drew will fill the seat vacated by Donald Gibb, who resigned in October due to a move outside of the District. Gibb was elected to the Board in 2013.

Drew will serve the remainder of the seat’s six-year term, which will expire in April, 2019 and informed the Board he does not plan to seek election for the seat.

The Trustee seat Drew has been nominated to fill is one of three six-year term positions open on the Heartland Board of Trustees commencing no later than May 2, 2019. One two-year term position will also be open on the Board.

Individuals interested in seeking a position on the District 540 Board of Trustees in the April 2, 2019 election may pick up required nominating petitions at the Heartland Community College executive office, which is located in the Community Commons Building, Suite 2000 at 1500 W.
