Cool temps and a nippy breeze puts the feeling of fall in the Christian Village Fall Festival

[October 04, 2018]   LINCOLN - On Friday evening Christian Village in Lincoln hosted their annual fall festival street fair in front of the Woods Foundation Garden Villa. Activities at the festival included a bounce house, giant games and pumpkin painting.

Members of the Christian Village staff set themselves up for a fall into deep water at the dunk tank. Though it was a chilly evening, among those taking a seat in the tank was CV Administrator Steven Territo. Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe ran the event, and kids lined up to see if they could get the new administrator a little soggy. The first little gal in line, with some help from Edgecombe, got the job done and the administrator began his hour long torture!

Territo was a very good sport about it. He called out to the kids, fun little insults about how they would never be able to hit the target. Then when he went swooshing into the water and came back up for air that first time, he called out to the little girl who had dunked him, "And I thought you were a good girl!" Unfortunately for Territo, that first dive was just the beginning, as Edgecombe "helped" each kid with their pitches to make sure the administrator spent a good part of the evening in the water.

Moving away from the dunk tank, live music was being performed on the lawn at the Garden Villa.

A bake sale was underway, and with the temperatures only in the 50's and a nippy breeze, hot coffee was a popular beverage among the grown-ups.

 

Guests were enjoying food prepared by retired Lincoln Fire Fighter Steve Dahmm.

Near the front doors of the Villa, another popular stop was the cotton candy stand. Kids enjoyed eating the fluffy sugar, and got that extra boost of sugar energy needed to be active in the bounce house.

There was also a balloon artist on hand and several children were seen sporting inflatable swords, some inflatable pets and other miscellaneous items.

All around, visitors to the festival were displaying happy smiles as they gathered in groups to enjoy watching the kids play, or grabbed a bite to eat together, or just took in the music.
