Chilly air and gray skies hinder Mason Classic Car show

[October 04, 2018]   LINCOLN - Those who are familiar with car collectors will understand that to the owners of a classic car, that vehicle is as special as their children. Some children of car owners may counter that sometimes they think dad loves the car more!

While we can't speak to those claims, what we can say is that when the weather is less than perfect, the classic car is generally kept under wraps.

Such was the case this past Saturday when the weather was gray, cloudy, and looked like rain. The Lincoln Masonic Lodge suffered the conditions provided by Mother Nature, with a low turn out to their first-ever classic car show at the Lodge in Lincoln.

Some cars did come for the show, and the folks who stopped by to check them out had the pleasure of seeing some nice machines and talking with their owners about the treasured possession.

The members of the Lodge were making the best of it, with plenty of food and warm beverages and live music filling the parking lot.

Mason Steve Charron said that they were all going to enjoy the day. And on the bright side, there were enough trophies that probably every car showing would get to take one.

First-year events are a challenge, and the Masons can only look forward now and hope that next year Mother Nature will be kinder.

The event was a fundraiser for the lodge. Money raised by the lodge goes to support many local needs including special programs and events for local children.
