LINCOLN

This past Saturday it was a very chilly day outside. When the sun did shine on occasion, the weather outside was more comfortable. The problem was the sun just didn't shine often enough. However, it didn't seem to stop those who were interested in joining in the activities at the Mill on Route 66 Museum.

Outside, the Railsplitter Car Club was hosting its annual Mill Crusie-in, and a good number of vehicles were on display for visitors to enjoy. As folks milled about the parking area behind the Route 66 attraction, they would stop from time to time to visit with car owners or take a closer look at what was "under the hood" of a particular vehicle.

When it got too chilly, visitors then ventured inside where it was warmer and enjoyed live entertainment.

In the first part of the day at the Mill on Route 66 Museum Car Cruise-in, the live entertainment inside the mill building was Danny Tackett and his Pea Pickin' Orchestra. As Tackett and the band played familiar tunes, the crowd inside the building found a good place to sit for a while or stood in the background tapping their toes to the music.

There was a raffle, and items on sale inside, including boxes of pizza for folks to take a slice at a time.

Throughout the day, those in attendance enjoyed looking at the cars outside and also taking in the laid back atmosphere inside the museum.
