Humane Society of Logan County hosts Halloween Party for Pets and their people and annual Blessing of the Animals

LINCOLN 

On Saturday, October 27th the Humane Society of Logan County will host a special Halloween party for pets along with their child or adult counterparts. The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the Humane Society Shelter.

The community is invited to attend, with or without their pets and enjoy an afternoon at the HSLC. Take a tour of the facility, and meet our wonderful animals hoping to find their forever home in time for the holidays!

The society will also hold their annual Blessing of the Animals on that day and everyone is invited to bring their beloved pet for a blessing administered by a member of the local clergy.

At the Halloween party look for the opportunity to compete in a variety of pet costume competition. Prizes with be given for best small, medium and large dog costumes. There will also be a prize for the best overall costume.

Adding to the fun, there will be a competition for best pet/human costume combo and the best pet/child coordinated costume.

Visitors can enjoy a pet parade and also there will be free refreshments including hot dogs, child, and water. Trick or Treat bags will be handed out to all children.



And finally, there will be a photo booth! Get that picture with your beloved pet!

Again, the event is free and open to the public. All pets in attendance must be non-aggressive in crowds and must be on a leash or in a crate at all times.
