The Lincoln Junior High School Trojans softball team improved their overall season record to 17-6 with a regional quarterfinal victory over Riverton Wednesday afternoon at Ralph Gale Field. The Trojans downed Riverton by a score of 10-0 behind a no-hitter from pitcher Cara Farnam.

Lincoln scored three runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI triple by Alex Eads. In the second inning the Trojans scored five runs as Farnam, Eads, Riley Tungate and Neveah McCree all drove in runs. The big hit here being a double by McCree. Lincoln would score two more runs in the third inning and that was all the offense Lincoln needed.

With Farnam pitching lights out from the circle, the 10-0 five-inning affair was over quickly. Farnam's no-hitter featured 11 strikeouts and just two walks.

The hot bats for Lincoln on this very hot afternoon were Alex Eads (2-for-2 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs), Neveah McCree (2-for-3 with 2 RBIs), Riley Tungate (1-for-4 with 2 runs and an RBI), Adi Rumler (1-for-2 with 2 runs) and Taryn Stoltzenburg (1-for-2 with a run).

The eighth grade softball players were also recognized following the win over Riverton.
