LINCOLN
A new group is announcing the formation of Lincoln Partnership for
STEM – a non-profit scholarship organization geared to support STEM
education. This new organization will not only support STEM
education; Lincoln Partnership for STEM plans to offer scholarships
in the future to local students pursuing an interest in science,
technology, engineering and mathematics.
STEM is a widely-used curriculum that focuses on the disciplines of
science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The blending of
these disciplines helps students to prepare for the ever-changing
workforce that exists today. The popularity of STEM has grown
rapidly in the recent years as it is a new and effective approach to
education that not only teaches independent innovation but also
helps students to develop critical thinking skills. Experience with
a STEM approach allows students to explore subjects at a greater
depth and in turn will help them with a greater job potential.

Lincoln Partnership for STEM’s purpose is to work with the business community
and volunteers to provide events and fundraising opportunities in order to
generate revenue to support persons pursuing STEM education. The Board of
Directors for Lincoln Partnership for STEM also plans to apply for grants that
can allow for even more scholarship opportunities.
Although this is a new venture and many aspects are yet to be determined, the
community is urged to ask questions and to offer input to the Lincoln
Partnership for STEM. For those interested in offering support to Lincoln
Partnership for STEM, please email
