[September 12, 2018]  LINCOLN - Marilyn “Elaine” Franklin, 83, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Graveside Service:  11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Obituary

Marilyn “Elaine” Franklin, 83, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Elaine was born on February 18, 1935, in Grantsburg, the daughter of David R. and Flossie (Mathis) Hutchison. She married Robert Franklin on June 30, 1957 in Lincoln. He survives in Lincoln.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Deidre Ann (Matt) Berger of Sherman; her brother, Charles D. (Ruth) Hutchison of Collinsville OK; her sisters, Mignon (Maurice) Hamrick of Rockford and Judy Klopp of Springfield; one grandson, Chance (Kirstin) Berger of Davenport. Additionally, Elaine is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, and son, David Franklin.


 

Elaine graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University as a Registered Nurse in 1957. After college she worked as a charge nurse at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln; where she later retired from.

Graveside services for Elaine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made in Elaine’s name to The American Cancer Society, Asthma Foundation and ALMH Auxiliary.

Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
