[September 18, 2018]    The Lincoln College Men’s Soccer team picked up a win at home on Friday over Calumet College of St. Joseph. Lincoln was able to shut out Calumet 4-0.

Lincoln’s top goal scorer, junior Adrian Roman (Waukegan) broke a scoreless tie in the 34th minute. Roman scored with the help of an assist from his brother, Julian Roman (Waukegan). Adrian Roman would strike again just three minutes later. This time Roman got the assist from senior Bryan Orellana (Chicago). Lincoln took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

In the second period, the Lynx did not rest on their lead and managed two more goals. Sophomore Miguel De La Rosa (Ecuador) struck for a goal in the 68th minute and junior Peter Ukaegbu (Chicago) added another goal in the 75th. Both second half goals were assisted by Adrian Roman.

Lincoln Coach Ben Massena was pleased with the way his team approached this match. “This was a nice bounce back win for us after taking a few tough losses lately,” said Massena. “Our theme with the guys has been to pay attention to detail and do as many of the little things right as possible; they definitely did that today,” he added.

Lincoln (2-4) is off until Sept 22nd when they will travel to play a 2:00 PM match at Lindenwood-Belleville University.
