[September 26, 2018]   LINCOLN - If you can’t make it to the Illinois Symphony Orchestra concerts in Bloomington and Springfield, the ISO will bring its talented musicians to you as part of the Around the Town outreach of the orchestra.

That is what happened Friday evening at the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. ISO principal violist Nicholas Jeffery and flutist Abigail Walsh traveled to Lincoln to present a concert in the beautiful space of the church.

The duo played together and gave solo performances from selected music of the Baroque to contemporary composers. The acoustics of the First Presbyterian Church were perfect for the ethereal sounds coming from these gifted musicians. Imagine being serenaded by symphony members in an intimate concert hall, almost as if the performance was being presented to you personally.

Mr. Jeffery and Ms. Walsh took the time to explain the music they had selected, and related biographical information about the composers. Their performance made for a relaxed and pleasurable event, a magical evening.

First Presbyterian Pastor Adam Quine welcomes the audience to Friday evening’s Illinois Symphony Orchestra “Around the town” concert in Lincoln.
