[September 28, 2018]  MOUNT PULASKI - Jerry L. Maxheimer, 76, of Mount Pulaski passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski

Service: 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church

Funeral home: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader,  Mount Pulaski

Obituary

Jerry L. Maxheimer, 76, of Mount Pulaski passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Jerry was born on February 17, 1942 in Lincoln, the son of Everett John and Esther (Wolf) Maxheimer. He married Joyce A. Lowe on September 9, 1960 in Mount Pulaski. She survives in Mount Pulaski.

Jerry is also survived by his children, Tammy (Kevin) Holmes of Bloomington, Julie (Tim) Milner of Illiopolis, Doug (Angie) Maxheimer of Mount Pulaski; his grandchildren, Alexandria (Chase), Samantha (Curtis), Cecilia, Timothy (Mindy), Justin, Joel (Casie), Heather, Jared (Amanda), and Jessica; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jo Ellen (Charles) McAllister of LaGrange.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry was a farmer in the Mount Pulaski Area for many years. He was also a member of The Sons of The American Legion Post #447, an Elder/Trustee at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski, a former board member for The National Farmers Organization; and a member of the Mount Pulaski Historical Society.

Services for Jerry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski with Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 also at the church. Burial will follow the services at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski.

Memorial donations may be made in Jerry’s name to Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski or American Legion Post #447.

Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
