Lincoln Railers blank Jacksonville 10-0 behind no-hitter by Abby Glenn

Abby Glenn was brilliant in the pitcher's circle on Monday as she threw a no-hitter to lead Lincoln past Jacksonville 10-0.  Glenn was also responsible for getting the Lincoln offense started in the first inning. Her RBI single scored the first run for Lincoln.

Mya Kate Kirgan added a two-run double to make Lincoln's lead 3-0. 

The Railers added two more runs in the second inning on RBI singles from Sydney Worth and Jacey Cooper.

Macailey Metelko had led off the second inning by crushing a double. 

Lincoln broke open the game with five runs in the third inning. Singles by Sydney Sutherland and Metelko and a walk to Bayleigh Gillum loaded the bases for Chloe Laubenstein. Laubenstein knocked a double to center to score two runs. Worth added an RBI single in the inning. Metelko and Worth each stole home to account for two more Lincoln runs. 

Lincoln led 10-0 at the end of three innings and with Glenn pitching lights out the Railers had no trouble racking up the 10-0 win.

Glenn shut Jacksonville down from the circle and completed the five-inning affair by allowing zero runs, zero hits and striking out seven batters. 

Lincoln collected 15 hits against Jacksonville pitching. 

Lincoln's record improves to 3-4.

The Railers travel to Mahomet-Seymour for a doubleheader today.
