[April 09, 2019]    On the baseball diamond, Mahomet-Seymour took a 1-0 lead over Lincoln in the third inning last Tuesday while the Railsplitters put up goose eggs the first five innings of the game.

Lincoln exploded for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead. Drew Singleton ignited the Railsplitters offense with a lead-off triple in the inning. Nate Arnold followed that up with an RBI double to score Singleton and the ballgame was tied 1-1. Colton Holliday continued the hit parade with an RBI triple that scored Arnold. Justin Long singled in Holliday to make the score 3-1. The lead grew to 4-1 after an RBI single from Noah Funk.

Mahomet-Seymour plated two runs in the top of the seventh inning but the Railsplitters were able to hold on for the 4-3 win.

Nate Arnold earned the win for Lincoln. Arnold tossed six and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Only two of the runs were earned. Arnold struck out 10 batters and did not issue a single walk. Cameron Glick pitched in relief.

At the plate, Arnold led Lincoln with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI and a run scored.

Dawson Finch got the loss for Mahomet-Seymour.
