James McCann followed Moncada's blast with another home run as part of a four-run third inning. Chicago won for the third time in four games behind a 10-hit attack.

Detwiler (2-3) earned his first win since June 28, limiting the Rangers to one run on three hits with a career-high eight strikeouts and zero walks. Elvis Andrus reached Detwiler for a home run with two outs in the fourth for the Rangers' lone run.

Moncada went 2-for-4 in his first action since sustaining a strained right hamstring July 30 against the New York Mets. Chicago reinstated Moncada from the 10-game injured list before the game.

Moncada played third base alongside shortstop Tim Anderson, who spent June 26-July 29 on the injured list due to a high right ankle sprain. Before Thursday, the duo had shared the left side of the White Sox infield for just one inning since June 25.

Texas right-hander Ariel Jurado (6-10) took a complete-game loss. Jurado recovered from early struggles to help save a weary pitching staff as the club played the 13th game in a stretch of 17 games in as many days.

Jurado scattered six runs on 10 hits in eight innings with one walk and two strikeouts, throwing 71 of his 112 pitches for strikes.

McCann added two hits and two runs for Chicago. Anderson contributed an RBI single, and Matt Skole and Jose Abreu drove in runs with sacrifice flies.

Jimmy Cordero followed Detwiler with two innings of perfect relief. Kelvin Herrera worked around a ninth-inning walk to end the game.
