[August 26, 2019]  BIARRITZ, France (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said leaders attending a G7 summit of industrialized nations had not discussed monetary policy but might do so later.

Trump is at odds with U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell over U.S. interest rates.

On Friday Powell said the central bank would "act as appropriate" to keep the U.S. economy healthy in a deteriorating global economy, but stopped short of committing to rapid-fire rate cuts and drew criticism from Trump.

Monetary policy is not on the summit's official agenda.
