LINCOLN
As part of their Wow Wednesday lineup for the summer, the Lincoln
Heritage Museum invited historic interpreter John Johnson for a
brief look at some historic items tied to a theme. This week the
theme was Abraham Lincoln and his faith.
The items used for story telling this day were pieces related to the
religious doctrines of Lincoln’s day, including family Bibles, small
crosses, and other related objects.

Johnson, who participates in historic re-enactment, briefly spoke “in character”
as “Pastor Johan,” a Swedish pastor and circuit rider (a clergyman who traveled
on horseback from church to church). Johnson then presented some information on
the objects and spoke on interpretations of Lincoln’s personal faith.
The presentation was also streamed on the museum Facebook page, where it can
still be watched.
