A stop at a locally owned business is actually home to three
businesses. Bee’s Floral Design and Landscaping, Bee’s, Cub Cadet
and RJD Hobbies & Raceways. Beyond florals they also carry a new
line of mowers.

The Flip Up is designed to make cleaning your mower blades
effortless and adjusts the cutting height of the deck with a simple
push of a button.
At Anytime Fitness we were greeted by Mario Canon. Anytime is a full
gym and like it’s name implies guests may work out anytime. They
also have another trainer besides Mario that would be available.
Costs should be discussed with them.
At Rexx Battery Brian Kelly explained that they carry a full line of
batteries way beyond what is needed to get your vehicle started.
From your key fob to your RV, motorcycle, cell phone, sump pump,
watch and far much more.
O’Reilly’s is just about anything vehicle related. Christmas
suggestions were work lights, socket sets floor jacks and gloves.
Their knowledgeable staff can get anyone pointed in the right
direction.
R P Lumber is far beyond just building materials. They carry a line
of Pelican and Traeger Tail Gater coolers. There is also a line of
travel mugs. Corey Gardner is the manager.
Memorial Home Services, Don Cook Team Leader, has a large line of
medical equipment to keep your loved one home and comfortable. Lift
chairs, canes, walkers and pillows are but a scratch of the surface.
There are also lots of personal care items for purchase as well.
Vi’s Nails was our next stop. Of course they offer Manicures and
Pedicures and a lot of nail color choices. The shop was very neat
and orderly and their staff all took a moment to say hello.
Cha-Dai is more than a place to board your four legged baby. Kay
Armbruster was grooming Lola, a Golden Doodle. They also offer day
care for your dog or cat. They are also available to keep and care
for pet if you are going on vacation.
David Duncan, manager at the local AT&T store says that if you are
in need of anything about phones, stop in and see them. They also
have a wide range of iPads, chargers and even lap tops that are
interactive designed for children. They can also get you hooked up
to Direct TV.
A visit to Rent-A-Center was a good surprise. Kyle Logan, manager
said they are more than just furniture. There have sofas, beds,
furniture and appliances. They also offer washers and dryers, and
refrigerators.
Family Custom Cleaners & Tanning their name just about sums it up.
Vicki Hasprey and Victor Board were on hand when we stopped. They
are dry cleaners, tanning and also have a Laundromat to get your
clothes nice and fresh. They also have an extra large washer for
that comforter that is just way to big to go into your home washing
machine.
Hot Frog Custom Apparel and Decals is a newer business to Lincoln.
Located on Woodlawn Road Bob and Sonja Perschall gave a quick tour.
Signs, pet tags, wall art and gallery wraps are just the beginning.
Coolers and koosies, photo gifts, tote bags and mugs round out some
of their offerings. Many of their items can be personalized per
order.
We met Peggy Payne, owner of Peggy’s Place. Your nose will take you
in the direction of what you want from her eatery and baking shop.
You’ll find fresh baked cookies, beautiful pecan caramel rolls and
Fat Boy’s BBQ is still available. If you want anything catered or
custom made, call them.

Indigo Quilt Studio is a charming store in downtown Lincoln. Heather
Barrick, owner was very gracious in greeting us. Gift Certificates,
fabrics, patterns, sewing supplies are abundant. Indigo is also a
sewing machine repair place as well.
Small Town Creations has a broad spectrum of offerings. Personalized
gifts, mugs, placemats, note boards. cutting boards and key chains.
Owner Kathie Williams steers this ship. She also hosts paint nights.
Top Hat Creamery is tucked in the arcade very near Guzzardo’s
Restaurant. They offer over 16 varieties of the smoothest ice cream
available. In addition to ice cream they have sodas, cakes, sundaes,
floats and take home pints. Check out their Dole Whips, rumor has
that they are awesome. They also have a no sugar added butter pecan
that is awesome.
While in Mount Pulaski we stopped at Brickyard Bar and Grill. Just
like the name implies it is a restaurant and bar featuring a
plentiful menu. There is also a large dining area in the rear for
larger groups to meet.
Salt Creek Attic on the Square in downtown Mount Pulaski is a store
filled with many handcrafted items. If you have a difficult loved
one to buy for, stop in and see what they have. Beautifully done it
is not only home décor but some clothing items too. A very nice
store full of whimsy!
Johnson’s True Value is a treasure trove of all things hardware and
beyond. Doug Johnson, owner was there the day of our visit. If you
need a “what-cha-ma-call-it" stop in and he or his staff will help
you find it. The store is well lit and filled with a friendly staff.
In Atlanta, first stop was at Central IL Ag, where a host of great
toys for Christmas gift giving can be found. The farm equipment toys
are die-cast metal and replicas of the real thing. Pictured here are
two different farm play sets with accessories for hours of fun!
Harold & Georgia Green of Sew Personal Embroidery in Atlanta are
holding a piece they are getting ready to make into a quilt. They
have several patriot quilts made and can custom make just about
anything you may want. Have a quilt started that needs finishing?

Stopping in Elkhart we visited with three businesses. First stop was
Horsefeathers and Wild Hare Café. We found Peter and Andrea and
their newest person Jill cleaning up after lunch and tending to the
store.
Across the street was Country Bumpkin. It is full of country whimsy
and collectables.
The next stop was at Birdsong. Owner Jean Tweet greeted us with Max,
her four footed fur baby. Birdsong is full of odds and ends and if
you don’t know what to buy for someone chances are that Jean has it.
Just down the street was Gina’s Talk of the Town. A wonderful little
bar and grill and home to some of the best fried chicken. When you
are out and about this holiday season stop in to these friendly
places and say hello.
As you drive through town, pay note of the businesses here where you
might find just the right gifts that will please your loved one's
and friends.
