[December 16, 2019]    It was a late tip-off Saturday night for the Railers in the 2019 Edwardsville Shootout versus Belleville West, but that certainly did not slow the boys in green down. Lincoln stormed out to a 20-0 lead to start the game versus the defending Class 4A state champions.

By the end of the first quarter Lincoln commanded a 23-3 lead. At the half it was 31-13 and it was evident the Maroons are in a rebuilding year after the graduation of Illinois Mr. Basketball E.J. Liddell. Liddell is now at Ohio State playing basketball.

Lincoln led 44-19 at the end of the third quarter after Dylan Singleton hit a buzzer-beating three to extend the Railers lead. Lincoln cruised to the 61-34 final and without a doubt made a lasting impression at the shootout.

Lincoln’s Kaden Froebe was named the MVP of the game as he poured in 24 points. Kameron Whiteman contributed 12 points and Dylan Singleton tossed in 11 points for the Railers.

Lincoln improves to 8-0 on the season.

The Railers will play at Mount Zion Friday night.
