On
Friday morning State Bank of Lincoln President Steve Augenbaugh
officially presented the "Christening Lincoln" statue to the Logan
County Tourism Bureau. The statue accepted by Tourism Director
Morgan Gleason with board members Kathy Horn, Tracy Welch, and
Marilyn Wheat has been moved from State Bank’s Sangamon Branch to
the Lincoln Depot.
On Friday afternoon the first visitors to see the new statue were
sixth, seventh, and eighth graders from New Holland Middletown. The
students with their teachers Shelly Maxheimer, Patience Williams,
and Jerry Neisler visited the depot as a part of a Lincoln with
Lincoln themed tour.
The next official tour group to see
the statue was the fourth grade classes from Olympia South in
Atlanta along with their teachers Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Martin.,
