The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has received a complaint in regards to citizens receiving fraudulent phone calls from the Logan County Jail. Sheriff Mark Landers wants to warn citizens not to accept collect call charges from anyone they do not know.

If an inmate in the Logan County Jail calls someone outside the jail, they have an opportunity to state their name for the person on the other end to hear before accepting that call. If you are unsure whether or not the call is legitimate, you should not accept charges until you are able to determine the authenticity of the call.

If you believe you have become a victim of fraudulent activity, contact the Sheriff’s Office at (217) 732-4159 and request to speak with a Deputy. If you receive a call claiming to be from an inmate at the Logan County Jail and you wish to speak with the Corrections Staff to verify the legitimacy, you can call (217) 735-2610.
