This morning, Logan County has a new set of royalty. Crowned last night as your 2018 Miss Logan County Fair Queen is Molly Schempp. Molly is the daughter of Darin and Cindy Schempp. She has grown up at the Logan County Fair, participating in 4-H shows from the arts and sciences to livestock. She attends Olympia High School, and has been accepted into the LLCEO program in Logan County for the 2018-19 school year.

Your Junior Miss Logan County for the next year will be Julia Collins of Atlanta. Julia is the daughter of Ashley and Josh Collins. Julia is no stranger to the crown. In 2011 she was crowned as the Little Miss Logan County Fair, serving the year with Queen Kelsi Ubbenga.

And finally, your 2018 Little Miss Logan County is Kylee Fulk of Chestnut. Kylee is the daughter of Krystal and Joshua Fulk.

This year, Reed Naughton swept the Chicken Show with the Best Rooster, Best Hen and the Grand Champion Chicken. This is Naughton's second year to take the championship trophy.

Saturday and Sunday at the Logan County Fair will be jam-packed with great entertainment events and other activities. Among those will be the Cake Classic Bake-off and Auction held on Sunday. This year there will be some amazing bakers at the cake classic including Karen Sandel, Jeanne Runyon, Carlene Carter, Dana Oltmans, Faith Sanders, Daniel Crider, Joyce Conrady, and Darlene Crider. Look for Jeanne Runyon to be baking a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. This is the recipe that won her Best Over All Cake on Friday at the preliminary judging.

The Cake Classic Auction is a fundraiser for Logan County 4-H. To date, the highest total amount raised at the auction has been $3,950. So, grab those checkbooks and come on out for a chance at a sweet treat and let's see if we can't break $4,000 and set a new record in 2018!

Every Princess should have a little bling! On Thursday, Junior Miss Logan County Fair Julia Collins was sporting her pretty pink and purple flower balloon bracelet during Kids Day at the Fair. She and a friend had matching bracelets and were happy to show them off for the camera.

On Saturday LDN reported that the most money ever raised at the Logan County Fair Cake Classic was $3950. We challenged bidders to beat that and take the auction into the $4,000 range and you responded very well. On Sunday afternoon the total proceeds from the auction brought in a whopping $4,800!

Placing first in the Sunday afternoon judging was Darlene Crider with her Orange Chiffon Cake. Crider's cake also earned the highest bid at $900 and was purchased by the Culler's of Culler's Fries. However, the cake that brought in the most money was Carlene Carter's White Butter Cake. The cake sold twice bringing in a total of $1,000.
