Winter Weather Travel Advisory - ISP

 

[January 13, 2019]  SPRINGFIELD --

Illinois State Police District 9 Troopers are currently on scene handling
numerous slide offs and crashes on I-55 & I-72.

District 9 is now experiencing heavy snowfall through the entire district
that is expected to last all day and overnight.

All motorist are encouraged to stay home and cancel travel plans unless
its is imperative.

Additionally, motorist should allow adequate time for travel, vastly
reduce speeds and increase following distances to aid in reactionary time
for hazards encountered along the highways.

Lastly, please be mindful and move over for first responders if
encountered on the roadway.
