GFWC Illinois Federation of Woman's Clubs offers numerous scholarships for 2019

[January 14, 2019]   The GFWC Lincoln Woman's Club has scholarship applications available in a variety of fields for students attending college or vocational school in the Fall of 2019.

These scholarships are provided by the GFWC Illinois Federation of Woman's Clubs. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from across the State of Illinois.

Scholarships include:

  • Lorado Taft Art Scholarship, $1,000

  • Arthur Grant Smith Drama Scholarship,$1000

  • Hamilton Ridge Music Scholarship, $1,000

  • Illinois Cottage Park Ridge Vocational Scholarship for Girls, $1,000

  • Lincoln Lodge Vocational Scholarship for Boys, $1,000

  • Vina A. Miller Conservation Scholarship $1,000 (Examples include but are not limited to Environmental Studies, Forestry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Recycling, Land Management, Oceanography, Marine Biology, Landscaping, Animal Rehabilitation .)

  • GFWC Illinois Cultural Exchange Scholarship, $500 (for high school or college students who plan to study abroad)

  • GFWC Illinois Native American Scholarship, $750

Students applying for the above listed scholarships must plan on attending a college, university or vocational school located within the state of Illinois during the Fall of 2019. Applicants are not limited to current high school graduates. Potential students of all ages are welcome to apply. Past applicants and/or winners may re-apply. Funds are mailed directly to the school/university.

The deadline for all applications is February 15, 2019. Applications are available through the guidance departments of Hartsburg-Emden High School, Lincoln Community High School, and Mount Pulaski High School. They are also available by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Marta McCall, 19 Westminster Dr., Lincoln, IL 62656. Winners will be notified of their status by April 1, 2019.
