| Highway condition statement from 
			the Illinois State Police

			Illinois State Police District 9 Troopers are currently on scene 
			handling slide offs, motorist assists, and crashes on I-55.
 - District 9 is now experiencing heavy snowfall with high winds,
 creating blizzard like conditions. Especially in the northern 
			Sangamon,
 Menard & Logan County areas.
 
 - All motorist are encouraged to stay home and cancel travel plans
 unless its is imperative. The highways are snow covered and slick. 
			The
 heavy winds are creating blowing and drifting snow, making 
			visibility
 poor,

- Additionally, motorist should allow adequate time for travel, vastly reduce speeds and increase following distances to aid in
 reactionary time for hazards encountered along the highways.
 
 - Lastly, please be mindful and to move over for first responders if
 encountered on the roadway, by vastly reducing speed and carefully
 changing lanes.
