LINCOLN
Having completed its pilot effort in the final months of 2018, the
Lincoln Family Theater and Community Center is advancing its Miracle
Movie Ministry to a new permanent status in January 2019.
Pilot films included “I Can Only Imagine” and “The Shack.” January
movies have included the “God’s Not Dead” series films one, two and
three.
The MMM film will now play every day, twice a day at 3:45 p.m. and
during prime time evenings hours of 6:45 p.m.
“We are very excited about the response we have received so far,”
says LFT Operations Manager Marilyn Altman. “By featuring the same
two movie times every day we are confident this will take this
ministry to the next level.”
Miracle Movie Ministry movies run for one week at a time beginning
every Friday. Films will include those from both large nationwide
film companies as well as smaller, regional and at times independent
movie makers

“It has been a bit of a battle to get this nailed down, but God has made a way
and we are moving forward.” says Altman. “We all know someone who may be
struggling through something whether it be loneliness, a disability, addiction/
recovering or otherwise troubled. So we invite our MMM viewers to create their
own little ministry by telling others about our free movie ministry and
inviting, or bringing those people who would benefit from the encouraging
messages they bring.
Movies are also often used to assist people with various types of addictions.
Recovery First is an entity that has identified movies which can be used for
treatment in this way. A listing of their current movies appears at
https://www. recoveryfirst.org/blog/the-big-list-of-addiction-recovery-movies/.
LFT is analyzing how a specific ministry may be set up around these films.
LFT is also in the planning stages for other ministries. “We are in the process
of partnering with agencies who serve those with special needs as well as their
caregivers.“says Altman. “We have an opportunity to serve those in our community
who may not be able to attend a regular scheduled movie due to sensitivities to
sound, light or other issues.”
“We are blessed to have a facility with handicap accessibility.” says Altman.
“We have so much to offer, the possibilities are endless.”
