If
you don't have to go out the next two days then
don't. The wind chill factors are going to be at
dangerous levels and frostbite can occur in
about 10 minutes. While it's good to say, just
stay in, for many of us that is not a practical
solution to beating the cold. We have to go out,
it's not an option. So, now is the time when the
term "dress for success" means dress to stay
warm and avoid injury.
During extreme cold conditions multiple layers
top and bottom, heavy waterproof boots, hats,
and something covering your face is essential.
Please take care out there, and remember to look
out for your neighbors, especially the elderly,
and pets.
Additionally, if you need supplemental heat
inside your home, use extreme caution with space
heaters. Avoid placing heaters close to curtains
or furniture. Keep children and pets at a safe
distance, and never leave a space heater
unattended.
